The Concept Album
What ever happened to the concept album? I suppose not many people have the time to sit down, listen and absorb 40 minutes of music anymore. Tommy and The Wall absolutely amazing records. Could someone make a record like that today?

The end of the writers share.
A work for hire (WFH) in the TV music business was at one time a nice gig. You would give away the copyright but you would recieve a royalty from your PRO when your music got played. Today it is different. A WFH when signed without explicitly stating that you reserve your performance right "writers share" and it can not be direct or source licensed you will lose that right and the money that goes with it.
Direct - Source license
Direct - Source license part 2
The writers share is not a right. It is being stripped everyday. The beginning of the end or the end of the beginning? Certainly the end of what I always thought was guaranteed right. How should a guy who loves to create music for a living continue to do so with this right gone. Own the copyright or contribute to the decline of the right by doing WFH that enable direct or source licenses.
